Author James Nelson Caulkins encourages readers to embrace the freedom of an independent perspective in his new metaphysical fiction, "Walking for Breezes" (published by AuthorHouse).

Set several hundred years in the future, "Walking for Breezes" imagines a world where government influence is minimal and constitutional freedoms are openly lived on an individual level. The constraints of organized religion and an aggressive government with police and military support have been eschewed in favor of individual development.

The story centers around a boy taking his first steps toward being a young man with an independent perspective and takes place over a two-week period. The boy joins his great uncle for a walkabout in the Rocky Mountains, and their conversations reveal a variety of perspectives about humanity while describing the plant and animal life found along the way.

An excerpt from "Walking for Breezes":

"Different people do the same things in different ways. Freedom of religion is the concept that embraces different people seeking truth in different ways. If freedom is restricted truth is restricted and fanaticism grows."
