GROVEPORT, Ohio

In her poignant memoir, "The Piano Tuner's Daughter" (published by Xlibris), Ingrid Silvian chronicles her life-changing experiences to help children gain a clearer understanding of what it was like to live through the events of WWII; revealing how children - just like them - had to adapt and survive amidst the turmoil of such a chilling chapter of history.

Through vignettes in the lives of two young friends, Sonia and Ingrid, readers witness how everything changed when the Nazis came. Silvian provides a child's eye view of war, both mundane and profound - shifting from marbles to shrapnel as the treasure of choice; racing to catch the last train carrying evacuees out of the city; facing the crippling visage of war. This touching story reveals how the resilience of two girls' friendship had endured a myriad of racism and cruelty. It provides a valuable link that reaches across generations that will live on in the hearts and minds of a new generation of children.

Accompanied with vivid illustrations and an inspiring narrative, "The Piano Tuner's Daughter" provides eye-opening insight to both the old and young to a world that has gone by.
