Author Ingrid Muenstermann is a German immigrant herself. As it is, she sheds light on "Some Personal Stories of German Immigration to Australia since 1945" (published by Xlibris AU). Her latest publication gives voice to Germany-born migrants of different educational and professional backgrounds, and is the culmination of research and of personal migrant experiences.

In 2010, the author sent out notices all over Australia, asking 'Germans' (most of them Australians today) to write about their experiences, about challenges and positive happenings. The responses make up this eye-opening read. This book contains 28 chapters written by Germany-born women and men from all walks of life. It is about their expectations, hardships, achievements, in a foreign environment; and it is about trying to come to terms with the past, embracing the present, and achieving a future.

About the Author
Ingrid Muenstermann was born in Hamburg and immigrated to Australia in 1973. As a divorcee, mother of two and new settler, she has worked in many different 'professions', she studied part-time German, multiculturalism and sociology, achieved a PhD in 1997 (Social Sciences) and lectured at Australian universities such as Adelaide, Flinders and Charles Sturt. She has a keen interest in the settlement processes of migrants and in social inequality.
