About the Author
Luccia Ford (Luz Higuera) was born in Los Mochis Sinaloa Mexico. She studied in Mexico and Phoenix, Arizona which is where she resides now. She has four daughters, and seven grandchildren. Her inspiration for the story was her grandson who lived this experience. She was once an immigrant herself and also was a part of why she wanted to write this story. She has a passion for painting and writing children books and novels.
