Hanks, Howard set for Dan Brown's INFERNO Adaptation

According to Deadline Hollywood, Tom Hanks will once more put on the tweed jacket of Harvard Symbologist Robert Langdon in the big screen adaptation of Dan Brown's "Inferno."

The book is the fourth in the series that began with "The Da Vinci Code," and the third that Hanks and director Ron Howard have teamed up on for a film version. The pair decided to skip "The Lost Symbol," which was the only book not set in a historic European city.

The Robert Langdon series has been a very reliable box office commodity mixed in amongst the superheros franchises. THE DA VINCI CODE brought in $758,239,851 internationally at the box office in 2006, and 2009's ANGELS & DEMONS saw $485,930,816 in worldwide ticket sales.

Brian Grazer is again set to produce the film, along with Howard. David Koepp, who penned the ANGELS & DEMONS script, is back to work on INFERNO.
