Sunset under the Poet's Tree by George S.J. About the Author
George S.J. Anderson wrote "Sunset under the Poet's Tree" about his wife of 34 years who lost her life to breast cancer in 2011. He has been a practicing registered nurse for 37 years. He worked in both Pennsylvania and Maryland and hold licenses in both states. As a nurse, he was named "Clinical Nurse of the Year" in 2000 for District 2 of Maryland. Being a nurse put him on a unique position when caring for his late wife over 18 years she survived with breast cancer. He has been writing poems and short stories since age 14. He won his first award for poetry in 1974 with a poem titled "The Cage". Since that time, he published "The Hour of the Child", "The Fly", "Night Visions", "Leaves", "Old Friends", "January", "Journeys", and "Illusions" in numerous poetry collections. He was published in Silver Linings: The Other Side of Cancer in 1997 with the story "Twelve Roses". "A Brief Shining Moment" was published in Chicken Soup for the Volunteer Soul in 2003. He wrote and illustrated the book "Seasons in Cancer" in 2000, which later won the Audie Award in 2001. "Seasons in Cancer" was revised and republished in e-book format in 2012.
