In "A Toothfully Twisted Summer" (published by iUniverse), author Ellen Cappello's new young adult novel, readers are whisked away to the magical world of the Tooth Kingdom as they follow tooth fairy-in-training Magnolia Bloomgarden's journey to save the kingdom.

Magnolia Bloomgarden is not excited about spending her summer vacation in Tooth Kingdom working as a fairy for the family business. She could not care less about getting wings, learning to fly or sprinkling magic dust, especially because she has to leave her best friend, Sun, behind. But all of that is about to change when she realizes Sun's family is being pursued by dark fairies who need just one thing to survive: teeth.

This realization propels Magnolia into a journey to not only save all of Tooth Kingdom, but her friend Sun as well. Summoning up all the courage she has, she must battle dark forces as a portal slowly opens and frees the evil that has been hidden away for millennia.

An excerpt from "A Toothfully Twisted Summer":

"'Dark butterflies,' he growled. Not far ahead was a wall of blackness. It reached higher than I could see. It seemed to vibrate like the tremor of an earthquake. 'Turn around!' I yelled. He sat motionless, his eyes locked on the black wall ahead. With his foot on the brake, he stepped on the gas. The engine purred and then revved loudly. What is he doing? 'It's going to be okay, Magnolia,' he said. He released his foot from the brake, and we took off like a rocket. 'Stop!' I cried. My eyes must have been bulging from their sockets. I couldn't stop my screams. We were going to crash into the wall-and I didn't know what would happen to us when we did. Tears wet my cheeks. I was afraid I wasn't ever going to see anyone I loved again."

"Filled with friendship, family and adventure, 'A Toothfully Twisted Summer' is sure to delight any reader," says Cappello. "Everyone has a different background that makes us who we are. And while we may be different in many ways we can still be a team that works together and builds an everlasting bond with each other."
