Are alternative healing therapies that sprang from the paganistic culture of the East as effective as they claim to be? Are they medically superior from the products of science? In his incisive book, author EDWIN A. NOYES M.D., MPH seeks to answer this dilemma as he probes: "ALTERNATIVE & MYSTICAL HEALING THERAPIES - ARE THEY MEDICALLY SOUND & SPIRITUALLY SAFE??" (published by Xlibris).

Noyes summarizes years of intensive study and research into this book. It exposes what he believes is "the terrible spiritual dangers" posed by the New Age holistic health movement, which combines valid healing remedies with various mystical healing arts. Many popular proclaimed healing practices such as, meditation, yoga, mindfulness, acupuncture, tai chi, etc., when put to scientific testing by double blind, random selection with a control group, has shown at best to be no better than a placebo. The scientific community, most religions and the average citizen believes that utilizing them for medical care or stress control can be totally separated from the pagan religious influence. This book presents information which refutes this claim. Valuable insights are given herein into the traps of the paranormal from a Christian perspective.

"Today, there are many who are more interested in 'health at any cost than God's will at any price,' " says Noyes. This book explains, from the vantage point of a scientific and a Christian, the incompatibility of these practices to the faith as well as the scientific invalidity of its claims.

It seeks, therefore, to awaken every Christian to the conclusive truth: that "alternative and mystical healing therapies are not medically sound and are not spiritually safe."
