FREMONT, Calif.

A tragic railway accident leads off the new book "Living in Expectancy: When You Feel Like Giving Up" (published by WestBow Press). Author Cindy Wenger weaves together her own and others' accounts of the fateful day her car was hit by a train to introduce readers to the tools she has used while living in expectation of God's grace.

Wenger uses the accident to showcase God's supernatural intervention - despite seemingly devastating injuries and circumstances. It is the framework as she explains the tools available to help readers persevere through their own storms in life - tools she used in her darkest hour.

"It's about how to live in hope, in spite of what you see or feel in the natural," Wenger says.

Using Bible verses, Wenger offers insight to depressed, discouraged, disappointed and hopeless readers who long for encouragement. She also shares other accounts from her own life and the lives of her family members, hoping that coupling real experiences with the promises of God will help readers face their challenges.

"Everyone experiences storms that seem bigger than life," Wenger says. "The world is looking for a church that has answers, and God's word has strategies to help Christians go from victim to victory."
