"Crossing the Bar": a moving and eloquent drama depicting the events that happen in the last ten minutes of a woman's life. "Crossing the Bar" is the creation of published author, Charlotte Hotte, a North Carolina native, a mother of two, and grandmother of three children.

Charlotte, who credits the inspiration of the book to her sister, Denise, wishes to acknowledge her savior, Jesus Christ, along with many others who helped this book become a reality for her. "Thank you, Jesus for your saving power and the promise that though I will walk through the valley of the shadow of death Thou art with me," Charlotte pens on the first page.

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Charlotte Hotte's new book is both exciting and thought-provoking. Many have wondered what happens when one crosses over, but few have written about it.

Though the subject matter is mysterious, Hotte details each passing moment in a first-person narrative with a protagonist who is both curious and hesitant. The story goes through each of the people the main character, Rose, meets as she nears her fate.

During this time, Rose struggles with not only mortality, but the very nature of her being, as she meets a vast array of people from beyond the grave. She encounters families with unending love, secrets of sin and shame, joy, anger, and hope all while she draws ever closer to the doorway of eternity.
