AKRON, Ohio, July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ Accomplished educator and author Brett Tipton's (https://brettatipton.wordpress.com/) newest book wrestles with a question that has tested the faith of many since the beginning of time: What is the purpose of pain, suffering and death? When his father was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in October 2013, this question became personal. With the goal of helping others who may be facing similar challenges, he has collected his thoughts and conclusions in "How Could a Loving God Allow Dad to Get Cancer?", which is available now in paperback and Kindle editions from Amazon.

"Few people know the right words to say when someone they know has been diagnosed with a disease like cancer," says Tipton. "In fact, there are no 'right words' for this kind of trauma. Death and dying forces each of us to question our relationship with and understanding of God. My father was a gentle human being, loved by all who knew him. I could not help but wonder, like so many before me, why God allows decent people to suffer."

Tipton's dad lost his battle in June 2015. After much soul searching, the author chose to embrace the good things that resulted from this tragedy. For example, he witnessed both his mother's faith and his father's courage in facing down the monster that is cancer. Tipton also had the opportunity to write this book, which he believes can give others hope and solace during times of struggle.

"It's only been recently that I've written books I feel have a universal appeal," adds Tipton. "I'm confident my father is in a better place today, and free from pain and fear. My hope is that our family's story and my dad's life can impact the lives of others in a positive way."

Tipton plans to keep writing and publishing as long as the ideas keep flowing. Currently, he's developing a book on best teaching practices in church settings. A skilled public speaker, Tipton hopes to soon produce informative and inspiring videos building on that experience.
