The death of a child is a devastating loss to parents. Now, imagine what it's like to lose two sons.

In her new book, "An Uphill Struggle," author Barbara Mulloy-Robbins searches to understand and share the devastating connection between ADHD and chemical addiction as it played out in the life and death of her two sons.

This heartwarming blend of memoir and research highlights her sons' struggles with the undiagnosed and untreatable disorder of ADHD, and their choice to self-medicate in an effort to normalize their turbulent minds.

"I wrote this book to help eliminate the stigma that surrounds mental illness and drug addiction by sharing my story as a mother of two ADHD affected sons, their lives and deaths," Mulloy-Robbins said.

As a practical guide for parents with children suffering from ADHD, "An Uphill Struggle," is a honest, inspiring story of hope and love that reaches out to provide comfort and guidance when parents feel locked in a tangle of circumstances beyond their control.
