"People may tolerate injustice and cruelty for some time, but they, one day, will rise up," says author Tarif Youssef-Agha. Having himself experienced such a tyranny firsthand in his many years living in Syria under the Assad regime, the Arab-Spring Revolutions were a powerfully moving experience for him. This inspired him to pen "A Journey Around the Arab-Spring Revolutions" (published by Xlibris), which chronicles, in poetic form, the events of the Arab-Spring Revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Libya and his homeland, Syria.

This book works to tell the real stories that led to the revolutions, what happened during and after them, without any make up and/or confusing political language. Given the context of Youssef-Agha's own experiences with oppression, he is able to paint his expressions with what he knew to be the "behind the scene facts." He wrote all of this using a simple poetic language to make it easy to understand, fun to read and enjoy as it strives to speak directly to the heart.

"I want the readers to believe, beyond any doubt, that no matter how bloody and ghoulish any dictatorship is, it will one day collapse," says Tarif Youssef-Agha. Written in both Arabic and English, "A Journey Around the Arab-Spring Revolutions" speaks this message, of the quest for Freedom, Dignity and Democracy, to his fellow Arabs and to all the world's people.

About the Author
Tarif was born in Damascus, Syria, in 1957. He started writing short stories and articles in his early years of elementary school, and free-style poetry in his college years. He carries two degrees, a BS in science and a BA in letters, from Damascus University where he also lectured. After a number of encounters with the brutal Syrian dictatorship regime, he decided that Syria was not a safe country to live in. He moved to the U.S. in the 80s, settled in Houston, Texas, and restarted his life from scratch. He organized four poetry events in Houston in the years 2009 and 2010, where he recited his 'Epics' glorifying the civilization, history and culture of his nation. When 'The Arab Spring Revolutions' started late 2010, he immediately took their side and documented their events, one after one and step by step, with his poems and articles. His official website that includes all his works, in Arabic and English, is: sites.google.com/site/tarifspoetry
