Today the Director Presenter Services at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Ross Cunningham announced that Georgia Hendy has been appointed the role of Executive Producer - Venue Utilisation at the Centre.

Georgia Hendy comes from her current role at the Sydney Opera House as Senior Producer Children, Families and Creative Learning.

Mr Cunningham said that a balanced and carefully curated program for Queensland audiences has been central to QPAC welcoming more than 20 million visitors to the Centre over the last three decades.

"The Executive Producer - Venue Utilisation role is critical to our future as a vibrant and sustainable performing arts centre. Georgia is a very talented, outgoing and enthusiastic producer and programmer who will be responsible for driving commercial and entrepreneurial programming and producing under the brand of QPAC Presents."

Since starting at Sydney Opera House in 2007, Georgia has held a number of roles ranging from producing and programming to marketing and project coordination.

Georgia has worked across a variety of artforms, ranging from commercial entertainment, contemporary dance and performances for young audiences. She has been instrumental to the many commercial successes of the Sydney Opera House Presents portfolio, particularly within the Summer at the House brand.

A key focus of her time at the Opera House was her work in the dance program, for which she produced four Spring Dance festivals, and presentations by internationally acclaimed artists Sylvie Guillem, Nederlands Dans Theater and more.

Prior to her time at the Opera House, Georgia held roles in administration, marketing and stage management at Ensemble Theatre and toured extensively to a variety of regional venues across the east coast.

"I am excited to join QPAC's Presenter Services team in this expansive role, and to drive a vibrant program that balances commercial imperatives with high artistic values," said Ms Hendy.

Georgia is expected to start in this senior position within Presenter Services at the Centre in mid August 2015.
