You need to move like 'Greased lightning' as there are only two weeks left to catch the multimillion dollar new Australian production of GREASE at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC) Lyric Theatre.

GREASE will perform the final show of its successful Australian Premiere season in Brisbane on Sunday October 6 before moving to Sydney for the next stop of its national tour.

Theatre producer John Frost said he has been thrilled with the response to his new production of GREASE.

"Queensland audiences have certainly shown that GREASE is still the one they want! Houses have been full and the talented cast has been blown away by the standing ovations and appreciative audiences.

"To meet the demand and especially for the school holidays we are putting on some extra shows so I urge people to book now so they don't miss out. The dancing is sensational and all the favourite GREASE numbers are performed brilliantly. There's also some hilarious pre-show entertainment for audience members from the minute the theatre doors open and a sing-a-long at the end of the show to add to the fun," said Mr Frost.

Everyone's favourite Number 1 Party Musical stars musical theatre favourite Rob Mills as Danny and rising star Gretel Scarlett as Sandy, alongside Bert Newton as veteran disc jockey Vince Fontaine, Todd McKenney as Teen Angel, Anthony Callea as Johnny Casino, VAl Lehman as Miss Lynch, Lucy Maunder as Rizzo and Stephen Mahy as Kenickie.

The cast also features Francine Cain (Frenchy), Eli Cooper (Eugene), Chris Durling (Doody), Antoniette Iesue (Patty), Sam Ludeman (Sonny), Duane McGregor (Roger), Laura Murphy (Jan), Karla Tonkich (Marty) and Andrea Arena (Cha Cha). Ensemble roles are played by Jared Bryan, Elisha Chin, Stefanie De Castro, Euan Doidge, Heath Keating, Mitchell Mahony, Natasha Marconi, Scott Morris, Shannon O'Shea, Daniel Raso, Stephanie Silcock and Jessica White.

Audiences can extend their GREASE experience by purchasing a cast album featuring the new Australian cast. GREASE - The Australian Cast Recordingfeatures all the unforgettable GREASE favourites, including You're The One That I Want, Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Sandy, Greased Lightnin' and many more, sung by Rob, Gretel, Anthony, Todd and our stunning cast.

The Premiere season of GREASE at Brisbane's Lyric Theatre runs until October 6, followed by seasons at the Sydney Lyric Theatre from October 13, and at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne from January 2, 2014.

So dust off your leather jackets, pull on your bobby-socks and take a trip to a simpler time as "bad boy" Danny and "the girl next door" Sandy fall in love all over again, before GREASE has to move on from Brisbane!
