Day, Harner, et al. Lead Cape Cod Theatre Project's GUIDANCE, 7/8-7/10

The Cape Cod Theatre Project presents a staged reading of Guidance by Daria Polatin July 8 through 10. Headlining the reading will be Jason Butler Harner and Tony Nominee Johanna Day.

The reading will take place at the Falmouth Academy at 8pm. The director is to be determined. GUIDANCE tells the story of a new high school guidance counselor gets caught up in the lives of his students. Not even his Advil addiction can save him in this comedy about love and life in a complex world.

Johanna Day was nominated for a Best Featured Actress in a Play Tony Award in 2001 for her role as Claire in PROOF. Day was also nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play in 2008 for PETER AND JERRY. Day has also appeared on Broadway in AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY as Barbara Fordham.

Jason Butler Harner has appeared on Broadway in THE COASTS OF UTOPIA and THE 24 HOUR PLAYS. Harner was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a PLay in 2006 for THE PARIS LETTER.

Also staring in the cast will be Sarah Steele, Dan McCabe and Andrew Polk.

The rest of CCTP's season includes THE COLOR OF DESIRE, SECOND YEAR SENIOR and THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY OF STEVE JOBS.

The Cape Cod Theatre Project brings together playwrights of new American plays with professional directors and actors each July for staged readings with the goal of contributing to the legacy of American Theater. Last season CCTP presented SIX, CREATING CLAIRE, PHOTOGRAPHY 51 and INDIO.
