Does anyone know anything about the time period of 'Nine'? I'm playing Guido in a scene in class, and I'm not exactly sure when the play is set. Thanks!
Yankeefan007, I've read the libretto and had to write a report on it. Could you explain how is Nine set in the '60s? Maybe there was something I overlooked...

The original film it's based on, "8 1/2" came out in 1963.

8 1/2 is one if not my favorite film of all time. Channing is correct. That film was released in 1963 and judging from the costumes, hairstyles, etc. the show 9 is set in the 60s as well.
The recent revival definitely set it in the 60's. However, there was NOTHING about the original producton that strongly indicated a time period. The costumes were gorgeous, but it could just as well have been set in 1948 as 1978. No mini-skirts, go-go boots, or anything else particularly '60's.
