We are flying in tonight and spending the weekend near WTC. We decided to extend our stay until Monday morning (to catch Sweeney Sunday night) so our flight now leaves LGA at 7:15 am. The hotel rate is very high for Sunday night at the hotel we are staying at and hotels are dirt cheap everywhere else so we will probably switch hotels. Would it be better to get a hotel near the Williamsburg Bridge or the Midtown tunnel and at what unearthly hour will we need to leave? I will use a taxi or Uber. Thanks..
Getting to LGA is extremely quick via cab/uber by using the midtown tunnel or the Queensboro Bridge. I used to live near the latter and the cab ride was usually 15-20 minutes when there was no traffic.
That early in the morning you shouldn't have to worry much about traffic at all.
I've found that using Google Maps when you input the time you need to arrive is generally pretty accurate in terms of how much time you'll need for travel.
That time of day should be a breeze indeed. (Lucky you.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Whenever I fly out of LGA, I take the 6 or 7 am flights as well and even encounter any traffic since you'll probably need to book the car for around 5:30am.
