I really don't think there's anything "shaking up" Best Actor, and I'd argue it's the most predictable category this season: Briones, Groban, Hyde-Pierce, Karl, and Platt, with Platt taking the win.
I would say it's Karl, Platt, Hyde-Pierce, Groban, with the fifth slot up in the air for the moment. I would not be shocked if it ended up being thrown to Borle in Falsettos (not because I think he is deserving, mind you).
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
She is, but I'm sure they will petition him for Leading.
Reception for MISS SAIGON was pretty cold - I think Borle gets in for FALSETTOS.

“He might want to break his arm for real,” says a cynical Tony voter. - about Ben Platt.
God that's so tasteless and downright stupid. Why does he keep making sh*t up?
And agree about Briones - he might be a in relatively low buzz show, but he is force to reckon with on that stage. He will be nominated. If they know what's right for them, I hope Miss Saigon performs American Dream (or at least a portion of it) on TONYs.
Caption: Every so often there was a rare moment of perfect balance when I soared above him.
He didn't include Groban because he has some sort of vendetta against Great Comet's producers- he hasn't listed it in any of these articles all season.
I agree that the likely four are Platt, Karl, Groban, and Hyde-Pierce, with the last slot up in the air. Not that I think this will happen, but it'd be funny if Hyde-Pierce managed to win again- the last time he did was against another sure bet.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Groban received excellent reviews in a show that is a lock for Best Musical. He's very well respected in the industry - both he and Benton will be nominated. Rightfully so.

"Have you seen Bandstand? Cott is not getting nominated over Briones or Groban!

I see that the wording of my response was weird. What I meant essentially was there's not way Cott is a sure bet and there's no way Groban will have to battle for the 5th slot.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
