Hi all!

I am planning on stage door-ing "War Paint" after a performance, and was curious as to if Patti comes out and signs for fans? Also, I plan on bringing along my "Sweeney Todd" playbill, and was curious, for those who have met Patti, if she wouldn't mind signing it as well? I don't know her stance on signing playbills from her other performances. Thank you guys! :)

Have a great day!

Not the same, but when I saw the show in Chicago, Patti and Christine both left out a separate door than all the other actors and went straight into their cars without signing anything or greeting anyone. This could be different given the different setup at the Nederlander, though! The Goodman had a much more convenient "escape route," so to speak.

Thank you for the info! Fingers crossed they won't "escape"! ;p

Have a great night. :)

Not a personal experience, but a friend posted a photo she took with Patti at the stage door the other night, so it appears she has come out at least once.

Saw the show Thursday    Both came out and signed.  Neither wanted to talk.  Christine merely a whisper.  Patti moved very quickly.  I don't remember seeing any selfies.  Both smiled at kind comments, were  quite pleasant and appreciative.  It all went very quickly.     The weather was rather cool but not the arctic wind and temps that took over the next day.   They would have been crazy to have signed that night and doubt that they did.

Window cards were not for sale.  Told they would be in next week.

When I stage-doored after Patti and Mandy's show, Patti signed the apple that had been tossed to me in "Gypsy." She's been hit-or-miss miss both in terms of whether she comes out and how much she wants to interact. She straight-up yelled at me when I SDed her after "Gypsy" at City Center when I tried to take a picture of her signing.

I have nightmares to this day.

Any update on the stage door. I'll be seeing the show in two weeks and was curious

Bump.  I'm sure the stage door threads annoy some people here, but I'd also like to know the odds of meeting Patti and Christine at the stage door.  I'm going Sunday, May 21st, and I'm hoping that since it's a one show day and there is no show the next day, they might be more inclined to spend a few minutes at the stage door.

I saw "War Paint" on Friday and both Patti and Christine came out after the show. They both signed and took selfies with everyone who asked. Good luck!

How crowded has the stage door been?

Just did the stage door. It was very organized and everyone was polite. Patti came out first and was super fun, funny and warm. Signing and taking pictures with all who asked- kicking her foot up or flashing the peace sign. She gave a guy a kiss because it was his birthday and he literally almost fainted and started hyperventilating. Lol.  Douglas Sills signed and posed. After a little wait, Christine came out. She spoke very quietly and seemed very tired but she sign and posed with all who asked and was extremely sweet

I'll be seeing War Paint this week. One of my friends who saw it last week said only Patti and Christine came out after the evening show. After the two left in their cars, everyone waiting was told that all the other actors had left which included Douglas and John who play the husbands. Is there another exit where the actors can leave instead of the stage door at the Nederlander which is the same as the main public entrance. Thanks for any help. Just wast to be prepared when I see the show and if possible ask the four main characters to sign my playbill.

Since you want a good spot for Patti and Christine, and you don't know where the others will come out (and if they aren't using the stage door, it is likely to avoid signing/get home), so just settle in and see what happens...

Thanks for your help. That was my first post. The information shared here is valuable and the shared experiences can help everyone in their theatre-going experiences.

I SD'd late May and both Patti and Christine came out. Christine first, she was quiet but very kind. Patti was hilarious! She was apologetic for how long it took her to come out, but that she was distracted by some sailors who were backstage! She also said she felt a little tipsy lol. She was so funny, and really made it a great time for everyone who waited.

Saw the show yesterday and was really disappointed in it. Two and a half hours about cosmetics! Didn't bother to stage door

Hi!

Just reviving this thread to ask how the stage door has been recently?  I'm planning to rush the show soon, and I was wondering if certain days are better for stage dooring than others?  As in, do certain actors only come out on certain days?

Thanks!

I saw the show on  Friday, 9/1 and both Patti and Christine signed.  The only other person who signed that night was Erik Liberman.

Thank you!  Do any of you know if anyone comes out to the stage door after Saturday matinees?

I have tickets for the 11/1 matinee for my daughter's 12 birthday gift.  I know War Paint may be a little "old" for a 12 year old but she loves musical theater and I wanted her to have a chance to see these amazing performers (we're also seeing Cats at 7:00 - thanks TDF!).  Does anyone know if Patti or Christine ever come out to stage door after  Wednesday matinee?  I'm guessing they don't but that would be such a treat!

Enjoy! I took my 9 year old to see it in July and she loved it. : )
I’m going to be honest and say Patti probably won’t cone out after the matinee. With her hip pain, I’m guessing she has doctors and physical therapists working on her in between shows.
But you can bring a self-addressed envelope and a note and send it all backstage with the programs after the show and I bet she will sign and mail to you.

I saw it, come from away and dear evan hansen this weekend.  I really liked War Paint.  Patti's accent was a little thick at times but it was still good.  She had trouble walking and leaning on tables.  I asked if she comes out at the matinee and was told she doesn't because she is in so much pain. I thought maybe she would come out Sunday since there isn't evening show but  on Sunday she came out and went straight to her car without saying anything to any of the fans.  I was told it is because of how much pain she was in and that her understudy was even told to get ready to go on Sunday because she couldn't walk.  At the curtain call Christine helped her walk off the stage.

The sets and costumes were great.  I really liked it.
