Hello -

I'm bringing a group of high school students to the City next term to see Hamilton.  The majority of our sightseeing will center around Hamilton's life in the city.  In an effort to milk this sensation for all its worth I would like to use lyrics from the show when we are in various parts of the city.

As an example, when we are visiting the Grange - "It's quiet uptown"; when we are riding the Stanton Island Ferry - "23,00 ships in NY Harbor"; when we are outside Frances Tavern - "the room where it happened".

Any other suggestions?  I appreciate your help.

Sincerely -

Head across the river to Weehawken.  Preferably at dawn.

"Who Lives, Who dies, Who tells your story"  World Trade Center Memorial

"Daddy said not to go downtown"  Holland Tunnel during a traffic jam

City Hall "Lookin' for a mind at work"

"Let's Have Another Round Tonight"  Stonewall, The White Horse, Fraunces Tavern, or any historic watering hole

"There's nothin' rich people love more than goin' downtown and slummin' it with the poor"  Chelsea Hotel or Alphabet City

The Meat Packing District  "Your Obedient Servant; A. Ham"

"They pull up in their carriages and gawk at the students in the common"  Washington Square - alternatively "it must be nice, it must be nice, to have Washington on your side"

"Show me how to say no to this"  in front of the CATS marquis

The plaque on Maiden Lane that marks Jefferson's home can be "The Room Where It Happened".

I gave myself an All-Hamilton self guided tour for my birthday and used lyrics for my Instagram Posts.  I started my tour at 7am and was done seeing every sight I could make it to ending with the home he died in (mismarked--but what could I do!) at 8pm.  And exhausting long day but so much fun me and my husband hitting every spot we could.  I tried going in neighborhood order, it was great fun!

For Fraunces Tavern, I used "I'm Not Gonna Miss My Shot" since in the show, the tavern scene was used.  There is a museum upstairs where according to the exhibits, I used "Everybody's Favorite Fighting Frenchman" for Lafayette and "One Last Time" for the room Washington said farewell.  Also used "It Must Be Nice To Have Washington on Your Side" for the case with all of the Washington Artifacts.

"Weehawken Dawn, Guns Drawn" for the monument in NJ marking where the duel took place (10 minute bus ride from Times Square)

"Imma Get a Scholarship to Kings College" when I went to see the Hamilton statue at Columbia University.

I used "Best of Wives and Best of Women" for Eliza's grave beside Hamilton and of course "Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story" showing both their graves together since Eliza carried his legacy.

For the William Bayard home he passed in, I used lyrics from "The World was Wide Enough": "I strike him right between his ribs.  I walk towards him, but I am ushered away.  They row him back across the Hudson...I get a drink".

Just some suggestions... Sound like the students will have a ball!

Angelica is unfortunately in an unmarked grave opposite side of Trinity Church cemetery that Alexander and Eliza are buried in.
