I have not heard anything recently about the revival of the Wiz. Does anyone think it is still coming? I thought that the Marquis or Palace would work well, especially since they could be available.

I thought the Broadway is most likely going to Miss Saigon. Although they could close Fiddler and do a limited run of the Wiz. Or the Wiz could play the Lyric. Since there will be acrobatics, I'm assuming they will want a stage that is tall like the Palace or Broadway unlike lets say the Hirschfeld. I think I read somewhere that director Kenny Leon said they would be happy just to get a theater.
Miss Saigon has the Broadway. And the Palace is unavailable until 2019-2020. I doubt it would go into the Lyric. But is be surprised if it was still happening, there is literally no talk about it.

Figured this would happen. So I'm assuming they're thinking Fiddler will close Jan. 1? (I hope it doesn't close before-I have tickets for Dec. 27!)

After seeing Danielle Brooks play Sofia in 'The Color Purple' I kept thinking about is how great she would be as Evillene. She'd bring some Mabel King realness!

Going back to Broadway with the revised book would be a massive mistake. (Not that the original book was particularly great, but trying to apologize for what's broken only draws more attention to how broken it is.)
I've read/heard interviews with Craig Zadan & Neil Meron stating that they are still planning to bring The Wiz to Broadway, they're just waiting for the right venue to become available.
Please keep in mind that they went into business with the Shubert Organization, so it will most likely go into a Shubert house.
