Cynthia Erivo has given arguably the best star performance on Broadway in a long time. I'd die for her to do Aida in a Broadway revival, but she'd be amazing in everything. Feel free to dream cast her. Or let's just start a gofundme to do a 54 Below concert of Aida.

I'm not sure how I would feel about an Aida revival without Bob Crowley's scenery and costumes. I've seen it regionally without his designs and never liked it as much.
I would love to see something new written for her.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
"Cynthia Erivo is the new Hamilton - the topic nobody will shut up about and work into any and every conversation." Refreshingly, both are truly worth never shutting up about.
re: Cynthia returning to London - Selfish of me, but I hope not. She said in her Show People interview that she wants to stay as long as we will have her so....somebody write something for her. Quickly!

I was in college when Aida was on broadway and I still remember watching it with Heather Headley as Aida! Great times!!!!
BTW, one way I feel older is when original musicals I saw when I was younger are coming back as revivals (i.e. Color Purple, CATS, Spring Awakening, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, etc.)
if you know something and an Aida revival is actually percolating that would be awesome
Cynthia would do a great job in the role
i loved this show and was very lucky to see the obc 5 times, a lot considering i live in SF...
I think Aida was really well done, except for the reincarnation bits at the beginning and end and letting the heroes die....
They should learn from wicked and have the heroes make a surprise escape thanks to amneris, and most americans dont believe in reincarnation so they should can that too.
This is one of my fav cast recordings to listen to (its fun) and the cast album won the grammy
