Bernie all but conceded the election tonight. His press release said he was staying in it until the end in order to push his agenda. Which...is bull$hit. If you're not running anymore, you don't get to do that. He and his wife have gone past getting on my last damn nerve.
Yeah, I get that I'm not "old enough" to talk politics, but I would think that Bernie would want to spend the next few months trying to get the people who want Bernie or bust to vote for Hillary so that they can deny Trump the white house.
At the very least Ted Cruz, being the horrible monster that he is, won't be president any time soon.
There will be plenty of time to do that after the convention.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
He's an obvious Hillary plant, but it just makes this easier for her. On another note, Trump's wife is just the queen of resting bitch face. Brilliant.

The Clinton campaign should jump all over the misogynistic comments he made last night. She is a former two-term senator and secretary of state. He has two divorces, three marriages, and four bankruptcies. Take gender out of the equation, and who is more qualified? Would a woman with his history even get any attention as a political candidate?
That said, it will be challenging to take him on without lowering herself to his level.

javero,on Trump’s assertion that, if Hillary were a man, she’d only get 5% of the vote, Conor Friedersdorf on Twitter last night said something like, “because, of course, who would ever vote for a male Clinton for president?” Oh, wait.

I guess the VP talk should also start in earnest. I assume HRC's frontrunners are still Castro and Perez, but I don't know how much debate experience they have. I still think Trump is going to go with Christie, although it will be interesting to see what happens if he doesn't get to 1237 before Cleveland. In that scenario, might the GOP convention force a VP choice onto him?

If Trump keeps attacking women, like he did last night, then it would be smart for Clinton to pick a woman VP, to get women across the country even more passionate and fired up about her campaign.
Warren is the dream choice for progressives, but I think she is a long shot. Amy Klobuchar might help her in the rust belt, and is a safe choice since Minnesota has a Dem governor. Could Janet Napolitano swing Arizona, and help the Dem running against McCain?

The real story from last night is that Trump apparently did very well with PA's unpledged delegates. His campaigned seemed to be highly organized for the first time, circulating lists of delegates who were either loyal to Trump, or had committed to vote in line with their district (Trump won every district). MSNBC is estimating that Trump netted somewhere around 40 or so of the 54 available. These folks may come in very handy in Cleveland.

Yep, Team Trump has definitely re-calibrated. His new handlers even enrolled him in The Art of the Teleprompter 101. I'm encouraging folks on this end to not underestimate Trump in the general election. I fear that Hillary might have to get down and dirty with him to show strength which could compel some in the electorate to label her the word that rhymes with "snitch". Call it Hillary's Dilemma if you wish. I'm confident she'll strike the right balance.
When asked about attending Trump's wedding, Clinton's response should be, "I believe attended one of his weddings, but I can't recall which one. I know I didn't attend all of them."

The Associated Press is reporting that Ted Cruz plans to announce Carly Fiorina as his running mate this afternoon in Indianapolis. This seems strange for any number of reasons, not the least of which is that he isn't the party's nominee. Did his team even vet this woman? This has all the makings of a spectacular disaster, assuming it's true.
If I recall the GOP's convention rules correctly, the nominee is required to identity a running mate before the 1st round of voting. Cruz jumped the gun to force Trump to identify a running mate. He's all but conceded the party nomination to Trump who will lose in the general election to Hillary. Cruz has 2020 in sight now with Trump out of the way. I see the method to his madness.
