I'm looking to book tickets for In The Heights for July and the seating is different that the theatres I'm used to.  Can anyone confirm to me that there is no significant difference between platform 1 or 2 and that seats in Row C or D would be good?   Anything else that I need to know on the seating here?

Thanks!!

No major difference between platforms - that's just the two sides of the traverse staging. Rows C-D will be great, and best views are probably from the central section (13-36) or more towards the entrance (37 upward), as the barrio scenery bit is at the opposite end.

Enjoy!

All of the above and don't worry, there is not a single bad seat in the whole house

Does anyone know if they offer day seats for this production?

They have 25 pound last row seats and if you're under 25 you can buy any available seat for 15 pounds in advance.

I went tonight (Sunday 6pm show). I'm glad it wasn't my first time seeing this production, because every main part had an understudy on -- Usnavi, Benny, Sonny, Nina, Vanessa, Kevin Rosario and I think one more. How is that possible??!! Do the main cast members just normally not perform on Sundays (and the show didn't think/want to publicize this information?) or is this as crazy as I found it?

(and seats even in the back row are just as good, ps.)

I will actually be in London next Sunday and was considering seeing this, as there are only a couple of shows with performances on Sundays.  I'm rethinking now, unless this was a fluke.

I went last Thursday and we had lots of understudies too. I know the actors who play Benny and Nina have been on holiday (not together as far as I know haha), I don't know about the rest, there are a few bugs going round. Who was on as Abuela?

^ I think Abuela was not the understudy. She looks like the picture in the program - but it is a different actress since the cast change a few months ago. There's no understudy slip in the program or anything - I don't know if they do that here? - and the only announcement came over the speaker system as they finally opened the doors at 6:10 (for 6pm show) and the entire audience was trying to get inside, still talking and everything, so very few people heard that there was an announcement in the first place let alone the details of it!

I'm usually very excited for understudies and most of them did a very good job (esp Usnavi, I was rooting for him haha), but to have almost every named character all at once be understudies make the performance feel a bit rough and amateurish, unfortunately. Like each one (or even two) at a time would have done well with the standard cast but all at once was too much.

Yeah I like understudies when I've seen the main cast but it was a lot to take in last time I went. We had Camila as Abuela, and the actress who had played Vanessa the first time I saw it as Camila. Was a tad confused to begin with haha.

I went on the 17th and understudies were shown on a screen next to the doors of the platform 2 section .
