"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Always been a fan, but even as a child, I felt the third act was a major step down from the first hour or so. And the fact that the film ended with her kissing her (step) brother still irks me.
The requisite oral history nostalgia book is out and I was leafing through it at the B&N today, particularly the casting section. Apparently "the Aerosmith girl" was always a lock for Cher, although they met with Reese Witherspoon, who didn't want to audition.
Who else did they see? Seemingly everyone. Imagine Zach Braff as Josh, Jeremy Renner as Travis, Jerry Orbach as Cher's dad, Lauryn Hill as Dionne, Alannah Ubach as Tai, Terrence Howard as Murray, and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Amber.
