If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
"I'm I the only one who doesn't mind medleys at the Tony Awards? THE KING AND I medley might be really good."
I don't mind medleys ether. Several of the most memorable performances on the Tonys have been medleys. Such as Jersey Boys, Mary Poppins, Spring Awakening, South Pacific, Matilda, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, etc.
"Several of the most memorable performances on the Tonys have been medleys."
And several have made the shows look ridiculous. Aspects of Love and Once On This Island, both were good shows but their use of medleys made the show look like a confused mess.
I still think the best Tony performance that I've actually seen on original broadcast was "A New Argentina" from Evita. It was electric.
Also, "Turkey Lurkey Time" looks great. Thank you YouTube.
I think it's the one song performances that do better.

""Gigi is doing "The Night They Invented Champagne""
What else would they do? It's been a while since I've seen Gigi, but isn't that the only song that has any real energy in the show? "
Absolutely not true. It has "the Parisians", "the gossips", "thank heaven for little girls", "Paris is Paris again", I never want to go home again", "the contract","Gaston's soliloquy" and there was a possibility they wanted to highlight Victoria Clark, since she was nominated to a Tony with her song "say a prayer".
"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".
-Felicia Finley-
"And several have made the shows look ridiculous."
So that first statement is not true.
Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't.
I don't like it when they try to cram the whole show into the performance, like "Once on this Island", or they make it sound like a "Greatest Hits" record from Ronco (look it up).
"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
"I don't like it when they try to cram the whole show into the performance, like "Once on this Island"
Once On This Island only did two songs. One ballad, one up tempo. They should have dropped the ballad and just done the up tempo Mama Will Provide.
I think we are all glad to see the performances, but really the sole purpose of doing a number is to sell the show and some shows haven't done that very well.

I'm so torn, because I love Ring of Keys, and Sydney gives a wonderful performance every time she sings it, but I'm almost worried its starting to be an overused song at this point, because it seems like she's always singing it. I wish, for a cast that's made up of 5 Tony Nominees, their performance choice was something that's more inclusive of them all, but at the same time, I can't say what I'd chose if I were them either, so maybe it is the best option.
