Hi folks. I'll be in London for about a week in mid-June and am completely overwhelmed trying to decide what to see. The new debbie tucker greene play and Gypsy with Staunton are the only two choices so far that I feel confident about. Can anyone make some recommendations--what is just essential viewing, what's skippable... I'm looking to do a broad range. A big musical or two, a major play, some comedy, some really offbeat theatre. And, of course, anything that hasn't already made it to New York.
I really enjoyed Bend it like Beckham last week when I saw it, if you want a big new musical with lots of heart then I'd go with this. Some great tunes and all in all just a fun night at the theatre.
Thanks, Mark! I wondered about that one. I do love the movie--which actually was why I was concerned about choosing it. Happy to hear a good word for it.
Bit of a shameless plug, but if you're keen on new musicals, I'm working on FACING EAST, a new musical that's doing a concert on the West End in June to support Stonewall and Pride in London. :)
