I'm loving the promotion they are doing for Something Rotten! The videos are so witty and clever. Has anyone else seen them on Facebook/youtube? This show looks like it's going to be really funny. I can't wait!!
I keep seeing ads for this show on Facebook but hadn't seen the promos until today- very funny! I don't know anything about this show but I'm intrigued. And of course... Anything with Christian Borle is a must see! What a stud.
I adore all of their promo pics/videos! Cant wait to see the show in May! The last thing is saw Christian Borle in was Angels in America, so seeing him in such a comedic role is going to be fab!
Umm... Is anyone else noticing that the same four or five posters in this thread all type the same and all registered within about a month of each other???
You're all raving about the marketing team and efforts and then you are bashing the possibility of those same marketers coming on here and posting these things. I, for one, have not seen most of these - so to those who are sharing them: thank you!
And another thing: if there ever was a show to publicly come on here to "shill" or "troll" the users about a show, this seems like just the show to do it, considering the humor. So if you ARE with the team, I applaud you. You're getting exactly what you wanted out of this… making people freak out about the possibility of you working for the production and making people TALK about your show.
I'm happy to hear about the promos and the videos - although most of them are already linked to/promoted by this site and others. The posts in this thread are just clumsy. Since the marketing team didn't know the show was coming to Broadway until recently - it would not have been practical to register earlier and build up some resume. Although, if I were a marketer, I would have several identities already registered and ready to go - so I could promote multiple shows.
I don't think people would have minded had a post said "Hey, I'm with Something Rotten and we just posted this new video. The show is going to be great and funny. Check it out."
Before this thread showed up - I'm pretty sure other posters were already linking and expressing interest in the show. I know I watched the press preview spots before. So, again, this was just kind of clumsy.
I have tickets to see this because of the $15.95 promotion, but nothing I have seen so far leads me to believe this will be a hit. It doesn't seem fresh or funny. I hope I am proved wrong.
Haha this is hilarious. I didn't think posting a video would automatically makes me part of the marketing team? Definitely not the case. I didn't realize they were already posted in another thread. Sorry to duplicate anything!
