I would KILL to be in that show, Mrs. Doubtfire is one of my favourite movies and with Alan Menken writing the music (he who can do nothing wrong in my eyes), it will be a brilliant production if they get the right cast.
Wasn't this announced before with a different composer? Either way, I think Alan Menken would be good for the show, as long as he uses music closer to The Little Mermaid than Leap of Faith.
By the time this reaches any performances, I doubt lane will be anywhere believable as a father to three elementary/middle school age kids. Come on? Norbert would probably be a much more likely candidate for the role. As for the creative team, I think it's a perfect pairing. It will be interesting to see what genre of music Alan tackles. If he sticks to what he's good at, I think it will be golden. I'm surprised to see that David Zippel is doing the lyrics and not Jack Feldman. I thought a Newsies reunion was going to happen. That must be another unannounced project.
no i was just thinking about all the things i want to see. New alan Menken musicals, pippin movie, new bobby lopez musical UP HERE, Amy Morton, first wives club, and I'm about to start a duncan sheik thread!
"God Bless You, Mr Rosewater" is the worst musical I have seen, but not straining my brain too hard. Well, I did see a really bad production of "It's a bird,... Superman", but that is tainted by the really bad performances, sets, and costumes, and pit....
