Just saw Rick Miller's new one man show BOOM at the Panasonic. Told from the perspective of his Father, Mother, and a close friend of his mother's (;d)Miller uses the music of the eras to illuminate the connections between what is happening Historically ( big picture) and historically (personal). Miller is a gifted, charismatic performer and he vocally impersonates many of the major players in history from Fidel Castro and Churchill, to Cronkite and Trudeau . Of course there are the musical performers too- Perry Como & Tony Bennett to Sly and the Family Stone and Janis Joplin, all of which Miller manages w skill and aplomb. Even some minor tech difficulties didn't throw him, he seamlessly reset and got back into "the groove". The multimedia aspects of the show are impressive if sometimes a little too bright, but that changed so often, it just kinda went w the Psychedelic times. The show is only for two weeks so catch it while you can as it is going on a Canada wide tour
OH and contrary to some of the info out there there is NOW an intermission- good thing too- Depends are not universally worn!
