I've been watching the movies based on Warhol. Just finished Factory Girl. I've read his diaries.
What do you think? I can't decide whether he was a serious artist or just set out to play with everyone's minds.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
His movies are a bit odd. His commercial ones Frankenstein & Dracula were campfests. His other ones are just obscure. His off broadway venture Man In The Moon was a real howler . I actually saw it and can tell you it made a high school talent show look like Hamlet with Olivier
A Campbell soup can painting. You have to be kidding. He was the living version of the pet rock . He pulled it off for years so I give him credit for that.
I do have to give him credit for starting Interview magazine.

I really like his art. I can't speak for his other ventures, but I don't think he should be called a genius. My favorite of his is his portrait of Ingrid Bergman
He was both. I do believe he was an Artistic Genius first and foremost though. He spearheaded the Pop Art movement and pretty much styled the late 60's. His serigraphs are still highly valued and hang in almost all of the World's museums.
ETA: I WISH I had one or two of the original Cambells Soup Cans!
Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!
