I normally don't watch trailers (since so many of them give every gag/twist/action sequence away in advance), but is this the first "Trailer Teaser"? I am used to a Teaser Trailer, where it is an actual mini-trailer for the movie that barely shows anything (often because it is teasing a movie before it is shot/edited). But this is the first time I recall ever seeing a trailer teaser, which promotes that on Thursday, we can see the full trailer.
Other films have done it before. I think Prometheus did something similar to this. I personally loved the trailer teaser. Brought back so many great memories. Except for that CGI gate.
Not sure how I feel about it. It seems like a major departure from the original films. And how is it possible that the CGI looks worse than it did 21 years ago???
I'm looking forward to the movie. However, what I liked about the original movie was that it could have actually been happening in Costa Rica unbeknownst to us. Having a full theme park now open breaks that bubble. Then again, it seems like the natural progression for the series. I would rather have all the action happening in the park/island than for them to bring the dinosaurs to a mainland city (like they did in Lost World).
It's a fantastic follow-up to the original novel and contains a really fantastic (and believable) plot. You know, if you can forget about the whole Malcom is alive thing.
What they did with the movie is a complete and utter departure from that book. I don't know what they were thinking.
The second movie shares the title with the second novel and that's about it.
Missed opportunity for sure.

Did you want it to be like the other 3 films? I happen to love the premise of this film. John Hammond's dream is finally realized...The park is finally open to the public and the world. I for one am glad they moved the film forward and didn't just do some rehash of the original 3.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
