I was just listening to the Big Fish cast recording and realized just how much I miss it. Has anyone else had anything like this lately? Maybe I'm just overly sentimental today :)
I was reading an article about Norbert just yesterday, and realized how much I missed seeing him on stage. I loved Big Fish. I also miss being able to go to Bridges of Madison County, I miss being able to see Steven and Kelli kill it nightly with that tremendous score.
Rent it's my all time fav show saw it when it came here , to toronto , I love the Obc and the movie. I also wish next to normal was still happening I didn't even know it came here , the sound track to n2n is my fav Obc
The beauty of theater: it is transient. It becomes a part of you, which is something you share with only those that also experienced it.
I've loved many shows, but don't miss any....because they are always with me.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Since what dramamama said is 100% correct, the only shows I find I miss are the ones that had an improvisatory element. Chief among them: ONE MAN, TWO GUV'NORS. I could watch that every day and have a blessed life.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
I agree that theatre does stay with you. Maybe missing was not the best word. So much happened in that show that I was hard to take it all in. I wish I could relive it. Nevertheless I'm glad I saw it. I personally love the score, an the fact that the cast could sing the sh*t out of it didn't hurt.
I miss GREY GARDENS. I know it wasn't perfect, but I loved the score. I thought Christine Ebersole gave an amazing performance and I'd love to see it again.

I really miss Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Drowsy Chaperone (two of my favourites!) The Wedding Singer is on that list, as well! All such fun shows- sad !!!
2009 revival of Hair. The cast was so talented and committed to the show. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels or CMIYC (which I didn't even like that much) for the pure joy of NLB Caroline, or Change because I understand and respect it more now then I did when it premiered. The most recent ACL revival as it's the only version of ACL I'm really familiar with because I miss the dancing. The real, feel it in your joints dancing. I can watch that show all day.
Finally, Miss Saigon. Because I always thought the helicopter was so damn cool.
