HBO. Lesson learned. Never cancel Valerie Cherish again.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first season, but I am a huge fan of Lisa Kudrow so of course I watched. I'll watch a Friend in anything. Except Matthew Perry.

I thought that first season was the most perfect thing ever. I still consider it The Last Great Sitcom.

Were you pleased with the premiere?

Yeah, now that I can imagine where they're going with it. The Real Housewives stuff is meaningless to me, but everything else made me laugh and laugh and I can't wait to find out why Mark can't say the c-s word.

I am on the 3rd episode of the first season. So far hasn't clicked for me. Going to try a cpl of more but so far have to say as much as I like Lisa Kudrow this isn't doing it for me.

After a decade, this show (which very well might just be the last great sitcom, as well as one of the greatest shows to ever appear on television) makes a return that is so seamless you'd never know it was gone for as long as it was. Lisa Kudrow is a genius. It's just as simple as that.

Lisa Kudrow is, for me, the only Friend who has remained at the height of her ability.

Ouch from The Hollywood Reporter.

I stopped reading after the first paragraph. The writer of the review hated the first season, so I'm glad he wrote a totally unbiased review of this season.

Huss… all of us who love The Comeback felt many contradictory feelings as season one unfolded week-to-week. And then it reached the end and we knew we had just watched The Perfect Sitcom.

Stick to it.

I prefer her SHOWTIME series, Web Therapy. Tried to get into this, but it just didn't click for me. But happy it's back, for those who enjoy.

Did you see the whole thing? Did you see where it ended up?

"Did you see the whole thing? Did you see where it ended up?"

I watched the first 3 episodes of the original series, and I watched all of last night's episode. Am I missing something? Definitely a big fan of Kudrow's, and I love WEB THERAPY. Her two characters have some similarities. Just haven't been able to get into THE COMEBACK, try as I might.

Yes. I remember not being sure if I was appalled or entertained after three episodes of the first season. You have to see all the rest to see where they were going and how they get there.

No point in season 2 episode 1 without knowing the delectable history.

Exactly. It's such an uncomfortable show to watch and I remember when I first watched the 1st season, sometimes it would take me days to get though one episode because it was just so unsettling.

OK, Namo. Sold. I respect your opinion (and Jordan's) enough to give it another try.

I'll give it a couple more episodes. If it clicks it clicks. Agree I also love Web Therapy.

Perfection, so happy to have this back, I watched parts of this with my hands covering my face and shouting 'oh god Valerie stop talking' just like with season one. Good to have her back.

I agree that both THE COMEBACK and WEB THERAPY are brilliant and I'm not going to argue that one is better than the other.

They are different animals, however, and liking one doesn't guarantee an appreciation of the other. The big difference to me is that Fiona Wallace (WEB THERAPY) is just as amoral as her antagonists (and sometime more so) and gives as good as she gets. For every humiliation she suffers, she conjures a comeuppance for the offender.

Valerie Cherish (COMEBACK) is obviously a hopeless narcissist and her own worst enemy, but she's never really malicious and tries to be--and especially to be seen as--a nice person. That makes her nearly constant humiliation excruciating. That she herself is unknowingly to blame only makes it more so.

I've watched the first three times now. There are so many smart moves made I just don't know where all that genius comes from.

"It's me. Her name is Malllory Church and my name is Valerie Cherich."

Also, in the long first scene where they are picking reel highlights for Valerie's pilot presentation, there's a framed Godspell Playbill on the wall. I need to know what it's doing there, pronto.

When Mickey answers his cell phone from 2005 and brings up that antenna, I just couldn't stop laughing.

Just finished watching the new episode. I really enjoyed it. That Hollywood Reporter review is embarrassing and seems to be written with a bitter agenda. It reminds me of a certain fuddy duddy. Glad you are all enjoying it.
