Oh, I understand! You're going on a trip to NYC and you want to know whether you should go now or wait till spring and take the chance that some of the fall shows might close before you go.
Preview start in early April, so you can.t actually go earlier.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Truth be told, I still don't fully know what she's actually trying to know.

You have to choose what you want to see: The fall shows (i.e., The Elephant Man, You Can't Take It With You, It's Only a Play, Disgraced (which could run longer if it gets good reviews and sales boost)) or the spring ones (Fun Home, Finding Neverland, The Audience, Charles III, Wolf Hall, The King and I).
You just have to weigh your options (I have my biases-I'd tell you to wait and come in the spring-not only is Fun Home amazing, but the other shows coming in the spring sound pretty amazing, too). That said, I LOVED You Can't Take it With You very much and James Earl Jones is terrific. And I'm planning on catching The Elephant Man.
You can't go wrong in my book with either choice. The spring might have more shows to choose from (and the weather will be nicer). But, there are lots of great shows now and there will be in the spring. Perhaps you should buy the cast recording for Fun Home and listen to it and maybe read the book. See what you think before making a big decision like that.
Good luck and I am sure you'll love whatever you choose to see!
