Just saw the pilot. I quite liked it and am intrigued to see where it goes. I like the idea of an affair deconstructed Rashomon style. What was it about the final scene you didn't care for, Eric?

(BTW, the waitress' kid is totally gonna be a product of the affair, right? I mean, it has to be)

I don't really know your taste, Mr. Roxy, but I'd recommend giving it a try. It doesn't feel like a typical Showtime show - flashy, over edited, pulpy. It feels much more HBOish.

Roxy's taste is something along the lines of Sesame Street meets Dora the Explorer, but not with too much Dora since he doesn't like things to be confusing.

Roxy would not be a fan.

HorseTears--just the nature of the rape (and that's how I viewed it,) seemed so severe and meant for a shock. Some of that was explained in the second episode though. (And as much as I hate the very idea of trigger warnings--rape is one for me, so I probably saw too much into the scene.)

Oh, THAT scene. That was actually the penultimate scene. The final scene was actually the waitress being interviewed by the cop (I assume he's a cop) and she saying that she had to pick up her kid. That's why I was puzzled by your reaction.

I can certainly understand why you wouldn't care for THAT scene. I will say that in HIS version it appeared to be sexual assault. But, in HER version things seemed a lot fuzzier - it may have actually just been rough sex - a game that she and her guy play and the only way she can enjoy sex now? That being said, I imagine that both of of our storytellers are going to be somewhat unreliable narrators, which is what makes this approach so interesting to me.

Yeah, in HER version, it's wasn't rape. She asked him to make it stop hurting. Then she pushed him and looked at him in a way that let him know. She didn't protest. Then, when she saw the other guy watching, she got off. Apparently that has been a problem, since in her first scene, she wouldn't let her husband return the favor, so to speak.

I don't know how I feel about it yet. While the two versions are intriguing, it drags a bit for me. It's interesting that the actors all almost have to play two characters each. Taking the time to explain everything from both POVs is just a little much for my toddler chasing brain right now. I haven't decided if I am going to stick with it.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
