There's One Extraordinary Thing coming to the Finborough Theatre in January - the European Premiere of Jerry Herman's musical THE GRAND TOUR - produced by Danielle Tarento (Dogfight, Titanic, Taboo, Mack & Mabel, Parade, etc) and directed by Thom Southerland (Titanic, Mack & Mabel, Parade, Me And Juliet, State Fair).
It's not actually listed on the Finborough Theatre's website as yet but tickets are available via TicketWeb - and I just bought mine! Seriously excited about this!

I never use the length of a show's run on Broadway as litmus paper to test how good a show may be - there are many fantastic musicals that have had short Broadway runs and, conversely, a number of seriously mediocre shows that have run for years.
I have the OBC cast recording - and I love it! It may not be Herman's best score but it is a vintage Herman show nonetheless and it's fantastic that UK audiences are finally getting a chance to see it.
Also, as it's a Tarento/Southerland collaboration, it is going to be a high quality production. Can't wait to hear news of casting!

I actually really like the cast album, and I am really jealous of anybody who gets to go see this! From what I know about the show, Herman really didn't have any attachment to the show and just wrote the songs for a friend.
