Does anyone even watch Glee anymore? Why is this even news? But I'll bite....as much as people don't like her, no doubt she could sing this song out of the park.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
I've always felt Glee does a good job at mixing music genres. I mean you can't expect them to just do covers of Musicals. And If I remember correctly, Glee has never done a disney song, so this will be a first. Yes they do "hit" songs, but they do hit songs from many different genres.
I just recently finished watching the fifth season, which I didn't find to be nearly as bad as seasons 3 and 4, but it still fell flat. I'm happy they reduced the amount of episodes for season 6 and am glad it's the final season.
We all know Lea tells Ryan what songs she wants to sing. She sang songs from Funny Girl as her unofficial audition for the planned revival and this is her unofficial audition for the Frozen musical. We know she refuses to audition, so consider this her bid.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Interesting, but I can't see how following in Idina Menzel's footsteps will forward her career (i.e., I wonder if this was 'thrust upon her' rather than her seeking it out). Idina has already taken the world by storm with this song, there is no point.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
At most, one might expect a lot of close comparisons between Michele's multiple-take pre-recorded TV performance versus Menzel's live plenty-of-fun-behind-the-scenes-problems performance. Thing is, lots of people can sing this well, as evidenced by the 40+ singers Disney found in different languages, certainly. Then there's the look-like-natural-blonde part.
Word on the street has it that there will be a scene where Chris Colfer is tied up in a leather harness and will sing "Let me go, let me go, let me go, lover." Link
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
