Broadway has lost a legend! She was a true great. Elaine Stritch
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
A Broadway legend but also an important West End Star in the 70s. She showed us how it is done in Company, Small Craft Warnings and The Gingerbread Lady. She then went on to share the small screen in Two's Company with Donald Sinden for several seasons. She may have left the stage but she will never be forgotten. Everybody rise!
