Kerry Ellis to return to 'Wicked'; Willemijn Verkaik departs Saturday.

Willemijn Verkaik will unfortunately be leaving 'Wicked' this Saturday due to back injuries that require surgery. It is so devastating that her journey with 'Wicked' must now come to end like this. However, the amazingly talented Kerry Ellis will be returning to the show from 4 August to October 25. I wish Verkaik a full and speedy recovery and Ellis a great limited run.

I really have to drag myself to see Wicked in London (nothing against the show, I just don't like it done in a British accent..sorry guys)

I really wanted to see Wellemijn in it someday, but unfortunately now I will not. However, I am REALLY happy it's Kerry who is replacing because I never got to see her and put myself through Oliver! to compensate for missing her in Wicked. I think I will get a day seat for this in August.

Is Kerry Ellis worth seeing in the role?

In the past I have seen Ashleigh Gray (stand-in for Alexia Khadime), Rachel Tucker and Louise Dearman. Then Nikki Davis-Jones in the UK Tour. Best performance for me was Nikki.

What does everyone else think?

I don't even like Wicked that much, but I would definitely see Kerry Ellis in role. She is the best Elphaba in my opinion.
