Busch Gardens Tampa Auditions Sunday June 22

Busch Gardens Tampa will be holding open auditions on Sunday June 22nd for current day shows, Howl-O-Scream shows, and Christmas Day Shows. Please see below for more detailed casting information. Callbacks will be held later that day, so please make arrangements to be available.

All performers must bring a current headshot and resume to the audition.

Dancers

• Trained and proficient in jazz and/or ballet
• Hip Hop and break dancing a plus for males.
• Tumbling a plus for both males and females.
• Able to perform multiple high energy shows each day
• Day & Evening shifts available, depending on the show.
• Females- between 5’ 2 and 5’ 10”
• Males- 5’ 6” or taller
• Audition begins at 3:00 pm

Singers

• Male & Female singers who move well
• Must be available for daytime & weekend shifts
• High Belt (Females- High F, Males- High G)
• Please prepare 32 bars of 2 songs of contrasting styles. Bring a CD, mp3 player or sheet music in your key. A cappella singing will not be permitted.
• Below are brief descriptions of what we are specifically looking for in each Christmas Show
• Christmas from the Heart
• All singers should be strong soloist with great flexibility to learn and retain multiple part harmonies and a good ear to listen and blend with other cast members on group numbers.
• Christmas Celebration
• Singers should be strong Musical Theatre performers with legit voices. (Non Rock/Pop voices)
• All roles require movement and the ability to play various characters. Acting skills a plus!
• Christmas on Ice
• Male singer who should be very comfortable with a smooth “rat pack” style and Elvis rock style. Male singer should have a strong chest voice and strong falsetto to belt a High F and High D in falsetto.
• Arrive at 12:00 pm

Actors

• Looking for male actors for our Howl-O-Scream show, “Fiends”
• Must be available evenings beginning in August for rehearsal.
• Must be available Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights from Sept 26th –November 1st
• Arrive at 11:00 am on the day of your audition
• Doctor Freakenstein: “Mad scientist” male between 5’7” and 5’11” with the ability to command a stage and play a controlled manic character. Should have a strong physicality and be able to follow simple choreography.
• Igor: The hunchbacked and crazed assistant to the doctor. A male between 5’5” and 5’8” with a lot of energy and physicality. Must be OK with racy dialogue and movement.
• Please prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue and be prepared to perform some improv

Photo Ops & Shot Girls

• A variety of positions are also available for photo models and shot girls for our Howl-O-Scream season.
• Must be available Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights from Sept 26th –November 1st
• Arrive at 11:00 am on the day of your audition.
• Please apply as an actor and come prepared with a 1 minute comedic monologue

Musicians

• Looking for guitar, bass, drum kit and keyboard players
• Also looking for violin players for pre-show and atmospheric opportunities
• Must be technically proficient and able to read music
• Please prepare 1 minute of a contemporary pop/rock piece and a gospel-style piece to play at your audition
• Arrive at 2:00 pm on the day of your audition.

Costume Characters

• Must be between 4’ 10” and 6’ 2”.
• Must be able to stand for up to 2 hours at a time.
• Must be able to carry the weight of a full costume character for up to 1 hour at a time.
• Will need to withstand the Florida summer weather while in costume.
• Should be able to follow simple dance movements.
• Performance experience a plus but not required.
• You will be asked to learn a dance combo and participate in improv and athletic stamina exercises.
• Audition starts at 12:30 pm.

Stilt Walkers

• Strong male & female stilt walkers
• Must be available for daytime and weekend shifts
• Stilt experience not required
• Experience on jumping stilts a plus!
• Puppeteering experience a plus!
• Arrive at 11:00am on the day of your audition with a 1 minute comedic monologue
