I am excited for these tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed for some BRIDGES love.... .... and some BETH MALONE recognition for Fun Home!!!!!! I can't believe she hasn't been nominated for anything so far!
WOW. Well I don't care whether Audra or Cherry wins the Tony at this point. They were both stellar. But I'm wondering where the Tonys will place Audra now-it seemed more likely she'd be in the musical category.

Cherry was the most surprising snub, but what I really adore here is that they were willing to go far FAR off Broadway to recognize some of these. Play, Actress in a Play, Sets, Costumes...they really spread the love around. Wonderfully.
Interesting that there's no Michelle Williams or Linda Emond. That's 3 sets of nominations in a row that Linda has been left off of. She was my pick for the Tony this year, but I obviously have to rethink that.
THRILLED for Lauren Worsham. Interesting that she got the Drama Desk nomination and Lisa O'Hare got the OCC nomination. Would love them both to score Tony nods.
^ I had the same thought about Worsham and O'Hare! I've been hoping that Gentleman's Guide would choose "I've Decided to Marry You" as their Tony performance number, and would imagine a Tony nomination for one of both of those ladies would influence that choice. (Pinkham seems likely to score a nomination for Leading Actor.)
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Aladdin really is picking up steam, good for them.
I figured Ramin would sneak in for Actor in a Musical, considering their categories have 14 nominees. No Lena Hall or Marin Mazzie for Featured Actress either...
This season has really turned out to be so unexpected. It will be interesting to see how much love/any at all the Tony committee gives to Bridges, Bullets & If/Then.
"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
OK, what kind of crack were they on when they decided to snub THE GLASS MENAGERIE and give OF MICE AND MEN an nomination? Cherry Jones' snub is enough of a travesty, but the production itself? Clearly they're a demented bunch.
I am happy to see Michael Korie's smart and refreshing lyrics for FAR FROM HEAVEN get recognized.
If Audra gets into the Tony category for Best Actress in a Play, I'd put all of my money on her winning... It seems as though Menagerie's steam has ended due to it being so long ago. Cherry ain't getting that third Tony at this stage I'm afraid
I'm shocked that Linda Emond has not been nominated for an award for Cabaret yet. She gave my favorite female performance in a musical of the entire season. I'm hoping the Tonys recognize her on Tuesday!
