Where is Curtis Granderson? He is not even hitting his weight. There are a lot of duds in the lineup now but his absence of production is glaring
The Mets got him on the cheap and now we are seeing why he did not get any real offers. I cannot believe Collins is making excuses for him already. The guy did not play most of last year, had the normal 5/6 months off and only played sparingly in spring training. Yet Collins says he thinks Granderson is tired after spring training . Is he kidding me.
I would love to when management starts to spend like something other than a triple AAA affiliate. Add to that a new manager and trainer and hitting instructor. The have been in operation 50 years and have 2 world series.
They did win last night. But then that wouldn't give Mr. Roxy something to complain about.

Ever since they found mad cow disease in the US, I'm not taking any chances. They say it can live in your body for up to three years before it attacks and destroys your brain.
They are being no hit tonight. Another wasted pitching performance. Granderson is still Lost In Space. The other night they got 9 runs as they were aggressive and swinging on the first pitch. The next night, they were back to taking the first strike call. If they get a call strike or swing and miss, they are already behind the 8 ball.
I guess the success they had swinging on the first pitch went to their head.
You have to give Roxy credit. Here is a man who firmly believes if a point is worth making, it's worth making an absolute minimum of 15-20 times or in the case of how great Rocky was 79 times and how much he hates Ben Brantley, 106 times at last count.
They also traded Ike to Pitts for a player to be named later and a reliever. This is a trade that will come back to haunt them. Not a great return for them. Now it is sink or swim with Duda
Like, he is a complainer, a Daddy's boy, who constantly sulked for the past two seasons that led to even his defense regressing because umps hurt his feelings because he never let his bat off his shoulder. Even so, he was the definitely a hot and cold player but the 'hot' quality quickly diminished into, 'Performing enough not to get sent down to the minor leagues'.
His ceiling was always Adam LaRoche. Any average guy with a good glove- and as stated before, his defense greatly diminished in performance because what is between Ike Davis' ears is what does him in. Not the Mets, not Lucas Duda, not even Valley Fever.
Considering that Dominic Smith and MLB ready Wilmer Flores are in the minors, Josh Satin is a pretty good hitter against lefties to be put in situations where Duda is weak, and there needed to be somebody removed from the bench for depth considerations, I don't know why anybody but rabid complainers of the fan base aka The Roxys, think this trade is bad.
The only potential valid complaint is that the team waited to damn long and put too much fate in the thick-headed asshole like Davis.
Jesus Strummergirl, did Ike Davis refuse a request for an autograph, reject your advances? What? A Daddy's boy? How exactly would an average fan know that?
Dominic Smith BTW is in Class A ball currently batting .154 and Wilmer Flores has potential but he is predominantly a second baseman who has also played some 3rd and some SS. Not sure that will help them at 1st. They'd better hope Duda hits cause with Davis gone, there aren't a lot of other options.
His father was actually shooting off in the press after the announcement. There was a lot of bitterness on his end that came off like a little league dad. When was the last time a player's father hit the press circuit on his son being dealt? Davis had an awful attitude, sulking often in slumps. Had he ever capitalized on his potential, the excuses made for him would be passable, but he has never been great for a period beyond 2 months, and that ended with him rolling his ankle. I am annoyed at Davis but equally annoyed at certain Mets fans who mistook him for a Keith Hernandez and are treating this like Tom Seaver was dealt.
Flores can't field. If he ever were going to play everyday in the NL he likely would have to play first base, but Duda everyday with Satin hitting lefties is the most realistic for now. Smith is the future, years away, but also, first base is a replaceable position.
Terry Collins answer to Granderson stinking up the joint "I Will Keep Rolling Him Out There". Great strategy
Instead if trying to get to why he is not hitting, just send him out while the team piles up losses. Why not send him to the minors for 10 days to try and get his act together. He is being paid $15 million to hit.
Glad he escaped the Flushing swamp and the absolutely crappy treatment he got from management.
At least the Mets still have Granderson & Tejada who are in a contest who can have the lowest batting average,. It is a shame as the Mets starting pitching has been great while their hitting has been abysmal even for the Mets. I guess they are committed to Granderson no matter how he stinks up the place. The fans are going to get real ugly real soon toward the team & Granderson in particular. They are already starting to boo him. He is making Jason Bay look like Babe Ruth. Looks like Grandy contracted a severe case of Jason Bay disease. The Mets could turn the old Yankees Murderers Row in 200 hitters. Think they need a new hitting coach as what they are doing ain't working
To those who say I am not a fan, I have been rooting for them since the Polo Grounds in 1962. Than they lost but they tried hard and did not give up. These guys are mailing it in and it is not even to the end of April. The Mets gave Wright an 8 year contract and in his 2 nd year he has 1 home run in about 3 weeks. In fairness to him, he has no lineup protection in front or behind him.
Citi Field will be a ghost town this year which is a shame. I wonder if management will get the message or if they will continue with their Scrooge act.
