When I look at any of the online seating charts I see that the side section seats are 101-1487and 201 to 247 or something like that, but I can't tell. If you buy 202 or 102, is that seat at the "back of the stage area" or are they numbered from the center section towards the back? In other words, which is better -- 201 or 247?
Yes, I'm looking at that chart that haterobics posted. And sorry, but I can't find a seating chart on the official site that actually shows which seats are which numbers! So I'm not sure why it is so "easy to sort out". Is B 201 for example at the very top of the image or is it at the "bottom of that row" -- next to aisle 1? Surely people can understand why I'd rather be closer to aisle 1 than at the very "back of the seating, but yes I do understand arena or "three quarter round" seating. I really don't see anything that explains which way the numbers run -- from left to right or from right to left. So there is a lot of difference between seat 201 and seat 247!
By "back of the stage" I mean is that seat at the very top of the seating chart which is essentially more "back of the stage" instead of in front of the stage. Not sure why my question is so difficult to understand, except I guess in my OP I did screw up the one set of seat numbers. Surely if you're sitting in a seat at the very "top of the chart" you'd be spending a lot more time looking at the back of Ms. MacDonald's head then you'd be looking at her face as you would in sections 101-145 or 102-146 or in the side sections closer to those "end sections".
201 would be at the bottom. They are listed in the order they appear, which is why the chart is labeled 248-202, so G248 would the the seat at the top, right of the seating chart.
I'm not sure of the stage setup, though, and where the front of the stage actually sits in relation to the seats. Might be better off reading through the Lady Day previews thread for that detail.
OK, thanks, haterobics. I thought they might be in the order shown, but I've learned that is not always the case with seating charts. For example I've seen plenty of charts that show proscenium theatre seating and they show a right section as 101 to 135 and a left section as 102-136, even though I'm sure both are numbered from the aisle outward, which means they "should" be numbered 135 to 101 and 102 to 136 if they were actually labeled the way they are shown!
If I were to be in something like H101 or so.... Does it feel really far away from Audra? It is pretty much the farthest you can get.... Are the sides that aren't extreme side better seats for this production because they are closer?
jdrye, I cant imagine its a bad seat, actually I don't think there is a bad sat in the entire theatre. I would say the sides are slightly better as Audra walks through the table seating a few times during the show and at one point tells a story at the bar which is located on the opposite side of the stage. At this point her back will be to you if you are in H101 as that is pretty much dead center of the theatre which is why i would try for the sides so you dont lose that moment but again its a small theatre so even in the last row you feel close.
