I want to surprise my girlfriend with a stay in a hotel and tickets to a musical, but not sure what to buy....thinking about les mis because we both like the music but before I do that I'm wondering if there is any coming up that might be more exciting and fun. She is more mainstream but she loves Sondheim....I'm a Fringe junkie who doesn't like mainstream stuff...but I'm buying this for her so it has to be broadway and has to be a musical...so please give me anything you can think of that is coming down the pike.....

Thanks

The revival of Caberet?
Aladdin
The Bridges of Madison County
Rocky
If/Then

All starting previews between now and early March. some will officially open by March. It's all a matter of what sounds appealing.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Personally I think if you want something heart felt and amazing choose If/Then. If you want some fun choose the Alddin/Disney route. Not to say other shows opening won't be just as good. I was just going off Mamma's list. I myself would pick If/Then.

I would pick If/Then. Both times that I've seen it I sat in front of couples and both times they couldn't stop looking at each other during certain parts. It was adorable/annoying. (:

LOL...if we go I'll try to look cynical and indifferent!

March is when a lot of musicals are starting, so it will be challenging to get tickets to them. Les Miserables will be huge, and the tickets are selling very well. I would recommend Cabaret but the majority of the tickets left are very expensive. If money is no object, spring for the good seats. Have a great time!
