I LOVED this movie! Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy were both superb- one so big and physical, and the other only able to emote from the neck up. Their relationship was very sweet and it was fun (and funny) watching them bond. I had a slight quibble with the ending being a little abrupt, but I think it was just that I didn't want the movie to end more than anything.

It put me in such a good mood that when I got home I watched "Go On" and liked it!

That is a good mood. I saw this early last Spring when it came out in Canada. I did enjoy it, but I guess I expected something more. (I know there has been some controversy from some about issues of race, but I think they're overblown).

It just became the highest grossing French film outside of Frane ever, though is still $10 mill or so behind Amelie in the US.

I'm not surprised this one has such high grosses; it's an incredible crowd-pleaser.

I liked that it was character rather plot driven. It didn't need to rely on some tired plot device like something really bad happening and everyone blaming Driss, only to find himself vindicated of the crime in the final minutes. It wasn't that kind of movie. It was just the simple story about friendship, and I think that's what's resonating with audiences.

Beside being a good movie it had something French movies normally do not have - an ending.

You mean a happy ending. That was always the inside joke in the French film class I took.
