Has anybody who has seen the show in the past few nights noticed any changes? There was talk on here that they were changing the opening scene of the show?

Speaking of changes, I was listening to the cast album again today and totally forgot that in Oda Mae Brown's big number, "I'm Outta Here," they reference Whitney Houston. Something to the effect of, "I don't want to end up just like Whitney did." These were the lyrics before her sad death (but referencing her issues that led up to it). When I heard this song again for the first time since her death, I cringed. I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not they changed or planned to change this lyric?

^They changed the lyrics to Britney Spears and instead of parodying the melody in "I'll Always Love You" they now use a snippet of Britney's "Toxic" track.

Thanks, Kyle. That's interesting. I guess they needed another celebrity-as-cautionary-tale that rhymed with "Whitney."

SPOILER(?):

They took out the story of how Sam and Molly met and now they just argue over the decoration in the apartment.

@dancingthrulife04---What do you mean? Do they still open the show with the unveiling of their new apartment and singing "Here Right Now"?

Yes. Sorry. They changed the scene after "Here Right Now."

Saw the show last night and the opening scene is the least of their worries.

I saw the show again last night and the changes are minor. Like someone else mentioned, the first scene in the apartment (after "Here Right Now" is a bit different, a lot of new dialogue there but nothing major. There are a lot of small line or lyrical changes all over the place that I've noticed, but again, nothing that really changes the show significantly. Also, the scene right after Sam's death right before the hospital scene is a bit different.

The only other real minor change I noticed was the first time I saw the show they had an ensemble member dressed as Molly come out from the wings and assure Sam that she was there for him and then they hugged as Caissie walked by crying, escorted by a nurse. Now there is no ensemble body-double.

Honestly, the only things I feel like they're changing are things that didn't really need to be changed in the first place.

Is the rap still in the show? Have they changed the dead people's costumes? Do they still look like leftover junk from the Addams Family? Have the transitions on the suitcases been better for both Moya and Da'Vine? Did they get rid of that God awful sex montage? Has the dancing like epileptic patients changes?

There has not been a lot of posting about GHOST on this message board since it began previews...not sure if that is a good or bad thing. :/

I saw the show for the 1st time on Friday. The rap was still in and the Addams family ensemble was still hanging around. I don't remember epileptic dancing but I was enjoying a double red from the bar so anything is possible. The sex montage was in on Friday as well. Transitions for Da'vine on the luggage seemed fine I didn't notice her struggling. I enjoyed the show overall...more than Leap of Faith last night. The show soars during With You, Suspend my disbelief, Rain, and Nothing stops another day. Also enjoyed Richard's rendition of Unchained melody and it's reprise. But the song that replaced Ball of Wax(You gotta let go)and Talkin bout a miracle...meh. I was sitting in the rear mezz and the sound was unbalanced. "More" and "3 Little Words" suffered from the band covering vocals, which is a shame as these songs are top plays on my ipod. Life turns on a dime was also a casualty of the band covering Bryce's vocals, I wish the hadn't cut the section where Molly sings (I wanted it to be Sam, I wanted it be him, I lost him once I can't bear it, I cant lose him again....ect.). Da'vine was hilarious (Girl, you in danger!) but I can't help but miss Sharon D Clarke's vocals. Da'vine's songs were difficult to understand the lyrics(sound issue?) and the songs stayed in a 6 note range with the occasional jump up. Maybe it is just a cold restricting her from singing the notes Sharon sang on the CD or maybe Sharon was just riffing up a storm and Da'vine is singing as written in the score. At the end of the day they are not the type of vocals I had expected, but a fantastic performance otherwise. I want to catch Moya and compare the two, her backup vocals in the beginning of Are You a Believer? were strong. Focus(The Rap) didn't bother me, but my Ghost sippy cup full of wine had vanished by that point. Visually the show was spectacular, as said about Evita, you see your money on the stage. Some awesome effects, the subway scene really sticks out in my mind. There is great potential in this show I hope they can tighten it up before opening.Wasn't planning on writing a review on this thread but alas here it is! If you go to see Ghost kleenex are a must but if you forget them no worries! They have Ghost kleenex at the merch stand.

Last night, everything was smooth.

The creative team all over the house.

Some sound mixing details should be adressed, but all in all it didn't seem like a preview at all!

Seems like the main issue is the sound mixing. I must agree though, their vocals were heavily drowned out by the orchestra when I went to see the show as well. I don't remember if it was that way when I saw it in London but it definitely was so on Broadway. Especially during "Here Right Now", Richard's mic was so soft I could barely hear his harmonies between Caissie singing and the orchestra blaring.

And @TheaterBoy7777---I was very sad when they cut the part where Molly sings in "Life Turns On A Dime" as well. That was one of my favorite parts of the song as well.

Life Turns on a Dime has some of the WORST lyrics I have ever heard... I really hope they changed them. A shame they cut Molly's part in that song... Seeing it Monday. Will surely report back

What would the be better seats for this show/theatre? 4th row right orchestra on the aisle or 12th row right orchestra on the aisle? Thanks!

@Luscious---Front Mezzanine would be the best for this show to be honest...

Thanks kyl3fong2! I'm not a fan of mezz seating unless it's the 1st row, and the first few rows of the mezz are not an option for the date I'm considering. I usually prefer closer to further back, but don't want to miss anything sitting too close. So, I'm guessing 12th row right orchestra would trump 4th row for this show. Would you agree?
