Rob - some of the alignmet on the poll is a bit off, so I'm not sure if the links for the bottom two link to the correct place. It's a cool looking poll feature though!

Where the hell is The King and I? I want a Lincoln Center King and I directed by Bartlett Sher.

Are there only eight choices? The last two are cut in half.

I think many of us would agree that most musicals deserving of Broadway revival have been mounted in the past 20-25 years (if not on Bdwy then via Encores! or York or Musicals in Mufti, etc.).

I'd like to see directors and producers consider reviving:
A NEW BRAIN
CHESS
DESTRY RIDES AGAIN
LADY IN THE DARK
OF THEE I SING

BAT BOY!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Only a fool would revive Crazy for You without Stroman's choreography.

Jeez - I just realized that C4U opened nearly 20 years ago!

^^^^

I voted for City Of Angels too.

It is a remarkable show. One of the best written musicals I've ever seen.

Sorry Rob I responded to the poll so you can't see the choices anymore. I'm using the latest version of internet explorer. (8 I think?)

"Pippin" has a STUPID great score. Some may think it too much of its time but I believe its almost modern in its protagonist's search for fulfillment and fame. I vote "Pippin"!

egghumor-- several nice suggestions. Especially approve LADY IN THE DARK, after seeing the National Theater nearly do it justice back in '97 or so.

But OF THEE I SING? Reprise in LA tried to prop that show up a few years ago and boy was it limp!

LI'L ABNER has a great score, and is owed a revisit for sure. But does anybody under 50 even remember the comic strip it's based on?

Li'L ABNER, for its great score, it's choreography (Michael Kidd was the original choreographer), and it's satiric humor. It has never been revived if you exclude a tepid ENCORES presentation.

I would also welcome Kurt Weill's brilliant LADY IN THE DARK.
