Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay

Now December found the love that we shared in September.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days

I just love this song.
I love Earth, Wind & Fire!

Dance away...

Oh, I love that song. It's bittersweet.

I love 'Reasons'

And, I used to get really turned on by 'Fantasy'...
There was just something about it. re: Do you remember....

Started singing the song just from the title. Love it! "In the Stone" is my jam, though. It goes on approximately every mixtape ever.

I just love Earth Wind and Fire. I did some of my best making out to their music. And some of my best dancing. Sometimes even at the same time. Ah, the good old days. Thanks for posting these.

I remember going to one of their concert's at the Forum in Jr. High.

EW&F was the band for all of the Asian kids at my Jr. High School - and though a nice Jewish girl, I mostly hung out with the Asian kids.

They also did "Got to Get You Into My Life" from the horrible Sgt. Pepper movie. It was a great cover of the song.

My college's marching band did their show to Earth, Wind, and Fire last year, now that I remember.

If anyone is interested, here are a couple of videos someone took at a really huge band festival they perform at every year.

Part 1

Part 2

And now these videos make me miss marching band.

September is my favorite song by them, but Let's Groove is easily the best recording of the disco era.

Addy, when I read your thread title, that's exactly what I thought of.

I'm a HUGE EW&F fan. Love them. They were brilliant musicians, singers, arrangers, and artists.

I have a terrific box set, plus many of their individual albums (CDs).

"September" is at the top of a very crowded list, including:

Fantasy
In the Stone
Evolution Orange
Shining Star
Let's Groove
I Write a Song For You
That's the Way of the World
Boogie Wonderland

Pure. Bliss.

Love all of the links and all of the songs.

Let's dance!

I say was all meet back here next year on September 21 to continue the tradition!
